dr. vyvyane loh

Shaman (Medical Director)

Dr. Vyvyane Loh is board-certified in Obesity Medicine and Internal Medicine. She graduated from Boston University School of Medicine and trained at Newton-Wellesley Hospital where she also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Loh worked at HMR and was the medical obesity specialist at Newton-Wellesley Hospital’s Center for Weight Loss Surgery before starting her own practice. She serves on the ABOM exam writing board and is a member of the Obesity Medicine Association and The Obesity Society. Her other achievements include choreography and writing. She was the recipient of the Bunting/Radcliffe Fellowship in Fiction in 2006, a Guggenheim Fellow in Fiction in 2008, and shortlisted for the 2005 international IMPAC Award in Literature. Her diverse skills support her commitment to celebrating the full range of our humanity in an increasingly technological and disembodied world through art and the healing sciences.

deidra parker

Interim Head Builder (Practice Manager)

A transplant from New York City (and now Boston’s own), Deidra Park joins our team as its Head Builder/Practice Manager. She brings a wealth of experience in non-profit and project development administration. Her work in a United Nations development program included travel and project administration in Burkina Faso, Namibia, Japan, Senegal, Zambia and Zimbabwe. She has also worked in the Office of the General Counsel of an educational non-profit organization and obtained her paralegal certification from Boston University. By day she possesses Spock-like logic and pragmatism; in her off-hours from work, she spends a lot of time in pursuit and support of movement arts, dance and yoga.


Anna gonzalez

chief grower (chief coach)

Anna graduated from Brandeis University with a major in Health Science, Society and Policy, and a minor in Business. Anna’s studies included courses in biology and physiology, as well as various aspects of the health care system and policies. She is also fluent in Spanish. Anna brings her passion for Public Health, wellness and advocacy for underserved groups to her role as Chief Grower at Transform Institute. In her day job, she coaxes, guides and helps our patients towards sustainable behavioral change with compassion and care. In her "free" time, Anna is currently pursuing her Masters in Public Health from George Washington University.


irving garcia

head scout (head Medical assistant)

Irving Garcia trained at Lincoln Tech Institute as a Medical Assistant and has worked in urgent care, cardiology and primary care clinics throughout his career. He is especially skilled in phlebotomy and draws blood with a smile (!) “Anything that I can do to help people makes me happy,” he says about his motivation for working in the medical field. Our patients have come to rely on him for his good nature and compassionate ear. He enjoys music and music production, and spending time with friends and family in his spare time.


namrod girmai

chief mover (fitness director)

Namrod graduated from Boston College with a BA in Communications and Sociology and a minor in Black Studies. He comes to Transform after serving as the Healthy Living Director at the YMCA in Brighton. He is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Personal Fitness Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist. He received certification by the American Council of Exercise as a Group Fitness Instructor. At the YMCA he was certified in kettlebells and was a Livestrong Administrator and Trainer, improving health and fitness for those recovering from or dealing with cancer. Namrod is currently pursuing certification in Pilates and shares his diverse fitness expertise with the Transform Community through group classes or one-on-one fitness sessions.


Joseph resendes

grower (coach)

Joseph is a certified Nutrition Consultant and Natural Chef. He received his nutrition certification from the Bauman College in Berkeley California and graduated from the culinary program at Le Cordon Bleu. Joseph brings his passion for food and his love of working with people to help improve their lives through nutrition. In his spare time he enjoys gardening, preparing a meal for family and friends and will occasionally bust out into a song and dance when you least expect it. He also loves giving back by volunteering locally, conducting cooking and nutrition classes to help families in need make nutritious and affordable meals.


Tanya wareck

Grower (Coach)

Tanya graduated from Simmons College with a MS in Applied Behavior Analysis. She is currently a Board Certified Behavior Analyst through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst through the Massachusetts Board of Allied Mental Health and Human Services. She holds a Sports and Exercise nutrition certification from Precision Nutrition and is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Tanya brings her passion for behavioral science and wellbeing, as well as devotion to individuals and families seeking meaningful and sustainable behavior change. Tanya enjoys music and art,

spending time with family and friends, competitive powerlifting, playing guitar, acrylic painting, yoga, fostering cats, and traveling.


selim gonzalez

scout (medical assistant)

Selim Gonzalez graduated from the University of Guatemala at San Carlos in 2010 with a MD in General Medicine, where he also researched the surgical management of the Diabetic Foot. After graduating medical school, Selim worked in several multi-disciplinary hospitals, practicing emergency medicine and minor surgeries. Here he learned about diabetes management, and other metabolic disorders. Selim brings his passion for patient care and medical knowledge to Transform Institute. He is currently studying for the United States Medical Licensing Exams.
